Ignacio Espinosa

 

Ignacio Espinosa did a B.F.A in architecture in the US at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and recently finished a masters in urban development planning at University College London. He currently lives in his hometown, Quito - Ecuador, where he works in research for FLACSO university, and is helping to prepare a civil society platform in frames of the upcoming Habitat III conference on the issues of the Right to the City. He is involved as an activist in the urban struggles of a marginalized neighbourhood and a trans feminist organization. He is interested in identity politics in cities, in art, and in Latin America.

Ana Makashvili

 

She has got into Georgian media since the age of 12 with the newspaper columns Alice in Georgia. In 2003 she was publishing Teenager’s Column in the newspaper 24 Saati, and is still collaborating with various media outlets, both as an author and a translator. She was first to translate Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Emma in Georgia. Getting the Master’s degree in Psychology, she is currently a doctoral student at Ilia State University and her research interests (independent of Austen) are largely related to prejudice.

 

Giorgi Maisuradze

 

(b. 1970) lives and works in Tbilisi. Maisuradze is a Doctor of philosophy, Cultural researcher and author. He studied history, philosophy and cultural studies in Tbilisi, Saarbrucken and Berlin. 2008 - 2013 worked at Berlin literature and cultural studies center. Since 2014 he is a professor at the Ilia State University, Tbilisi and the director of the Social and Cultural research Institute. He is the author of 8 books and various scientific, fictional or essayistic texts.

 

Nik O Nik

 

(b. 1985) lives and works in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Nik works in various media, mainly in film and sculpture. He uses language of appropriation, borrowing signs and symbols of various sub-cultures, and applying them new meanings. He works with found material, combining them to the material he creates himself, be it found images online or various clips, sounds and footage.
