Twelve Women Gone Missing - A Questionnaire
Tamara
Question 1: What is your name and your name at birth? What nationality is the passport you currently hold?
Quite recently, I found myself bored and bothered with the "identity-construct" that I also hold close dearly. Matters haven't improved since then – pretty literally, I’m indecisive, whether or not I should bother myself with new inventions. The world seems to be a kaleidoscopic river in full flow, thus even the search for authenticity becomes meaningless within the torrent. However, my passport is European and red.
Queston 2: When and where does your biography as an artist start?
In the same split second when Tamara K.E. being an artist ended.
Question 3: How many times have you shown your work in Georgia and when? / How many times have you shown your work elsewhere?
Anywhere but Georgia, until “Twelve Women Gone Missing”, such a well fitting subtext.
Question 4: Why did you leave? / Why did you go back?
I actually was rather taken from than left and like so often, the most fundamental changes just happen with no apparent reason or aim.
Question 5: Does your work reflect your biography?
I’d gladly say NO, but probably it’s not entirely true.
Question 6: Do you have any influences from any Georgian visual art tradition which you apply to your work? Why?/Why not?
I’d say NO and probably that’s true. Where in the future artificial intelligence will change our minds, and like technology promises, humans will be liberated from existential tasks and the routine of daily drudgery, I honestly lost track at that corner.
Question 7: Would you define your practice as feminist?
Femalenomadic, generously random and lately hysterical.
Question 8: Are you an active actant in the art scene of your current place of residence? Art scenes of Georgia?
Hmm... one way or the other I should be.
